Who This Is For

If you're in group 1, you have the foundations. Skip ahead to Part 2 and start writing specs. The rest of this curriculum will move quickly for you, because you already know what a function is, what a database is, and why Docker exists.

If you're in group 2 (the roofer, the restaurant manager, the solo consultant, the dental office owner), you don't need to become an engineer. You need to become someone who can describe what you want clearly enough that a machine can build it. Read Part 1, skim Part 2 and Part 4, and spend real time on Part 5 (designing what you're building) and Part 7 (real-world applications). The templates in Part 8 are written for you.

If you're in group 3, you're going to want to do at least some of v1 anyway. Not because you'll write much code by hand, but because you need to recognize what a database table is, what a function is, what an API is, and what "deploying" something means. Think of it as learning enough Spanish to order food, ask for the bathroom, and read the menu, not enough to write a novel.
